Hello World: Today I come to tell you my story of how I came to know this project called GOB, Game of Blocks, which, apart from giving me knowledge and rewards, has also allowed me to have a good time and meet amazing people. I would like to convince you through these lines to also join this ecosystem and become part of this fantastic community. • First steps in crypto and Web 3: My story begins before the Covid-19 pandemic when BTC was on everyone's lips because it had reached prices never seen before. However, I was trying to understand the crypto ecosystem with smaller coins like ETH, TRX, BNB, XRP, MATIC... etc. I spent some time testing DApps like PancakeSwap and Uniswap. I tried uploading files to the Polygon network and converting them into NFTs through Opensea. I attempted to farm airdrops on different chains, but all I got were scam NFTs, which prompted you to connect your wallet to draining websites to claim rewards. I also received an endless number of scam tokens, so I didn't manage to farm anything valuable. I even bought the plot corresponding to my real-world house in the metaverse. Lastly, I bought some ENS domains and tried out ETH Layer 2s, though I never really felt convinced by that ecosystem. I also got scammed when trying to trade airdrop tokens; signing a smart contract drained my wallet. After tinkering in this world and gaining a better understanding of the ecosystem, I focused on BTC because the interest it generated in me having when heard the story of Satoshi Nakamoto, the government's attempts to ban the asset, the decentralization it represented, its use on the dark web, Proof of Work, etc. I also made my first BTC purchases, as my interest grew along with my knowledge and my desire to obtain more BTC. It was then that I acquired my first hardware wallet, a Ledger Nano X. I felt a strong attraction to this asset, which no other cryptocurrency had ever made me feel. All of this happened between 2019 and 2021. • How I entered the world of Ordinals: In 2022, I left all this aside for a while as I focused on other things. It wasn't until mid-2023 that I started hearing about BTC again, as the halving was approaching and the price of BTC was around $25k-$30k. I had been learning about traditional markets and basic stock trading, so the halving had slipped my mind. I picked up where I had left off, studying BTC's market cycles and keeping up daily with news and institutional movements. In November 2023, I came across a YouTube video talking about metaverses on Bitcoin (Bitmaps), NFTs on BTC's native network (Ordinals), and cryptos on Bitcoin's L1 (BRC-20). I was completely amazed, as this finally gave a utility to BTC's L1 beyond sending and receiving funds. I didn't think this would ever be possible on BTC, and I got very excited. I entered the ecosystem hoping to increase my BTC holdings. I took some time to figure out which wallets could be used, trying Unisat, XVerse, OKX, and Ordinals Wallet. I also explored different markets like Unisat, Magic Eden, Ordinals Wallet, and Open Ordex. On November 28, 2023, I bought my first Bitmap, and that marked the beginning of my journey with Ordinals. I also purchased other collections like Bitpepe and GBRC721 Bitpunks, as they were cheaper and within my budget. I had no experience with NFT markets and was mostly relying on intuition. Besides buying Ordinals, I also tried mining BRC-20 tokens to understand their functionality. Instead of "mint," I used "deploy" for some inscriptions, and I didn't manage to mine certain tokens. The same happened with protocols like ARC-20 and ORC-20, on which I spent quite a bit of money with inscriptions that are now worthless. At least I learned a lot, haha. Afterward, I discovered other tools like Geniidata, Ordizaar, Ordinals Explorer, and StasX, and protocols like TAP, CBRC-20, BRC-20... etc. I bought my first TAP tokens and joined many Discord communities hoping to farm some airdrops. But since I didn’t fully understand how snapshots worked, I missed many and received hardly any. I also began to fine-tune my algorithm on X to inform me about everything related to the Ordinals ecosystem, reading through GitHub repos and Medium posts. From this point, I started registering domains on the BTC network, buying new collections in marketplaces or through X, and doing my first mints on BTC through platforms like Ordinal Genesis, InscribeNow, Ordizaar, and Magic Eden. Getting into everything I saw resulted in significant losses, as collections would rise in price in the first few days and then drop to zero. Luckily, I managed to sell some inscriptions at good prices, recovering some money. • My introduction to $GOB and why it's worth it: All of the above sets the stage for my story in the crypto world, leading up to where my journey with $GOB began, thanks to Natcats and the entire DMT ecosystem. When the first DMT tokens were released, I already had a foundation and successfully inscribed some tokens like dmt-jackpot and dmt-universe. On February 14, 2024, the first UNAT collection was fully mined, I mean, the Natcats. I found out on February 18, but not knowing how the Geniidata tables worked to check for remaining Natcats, I thought there were still Natcats left to mint. I spent until February 22 searching for rare traits and inscribing them, spending around $300. Once the checker on MsCribe became available, I found out that none of them were valid, and I had essentially thrown my money away. Before being listed on ME, I watched the OTC price rising through Google Sheets or in Ord City. In Ord City, I acquired my first Natcat. I finally had hope that a collection wouldn’t drop to zero and could bring me future gains. I was also nearly scammed when the old Natcats server was hacked. The hacker pretended to be the Natcats developer (EV) and posted a link to claim tokens. When claiming the tokens, the transaction would drain your wallet. Fortunately, I had no funds at the time, so I couldn’t complete the transaction due to insufficient fees. Later, the scammer contacted me pretending to be EV, and after explaining my issue, they sent me around $50 in BTC to cover the transaction fees. I was surprised and decided to check Twitter, where I sow that the server had been hacked, and I narrowly avoided being scammed while keeping that BTC. Soon after, the first drops and WL for Natcats holders began, allowing me to mint the CENTS collection, where I got one with a rare trait that I sold for 0.014 BTC. One day, I found a funny cube-shaped figure in my wallet, which led me to discover an anonymous team calling themselves Game of Blocks (GOB). They had an innovative blockchain game offering a unique functionality I had never seen before: re-inscription. It was a new way to learn while playing and earning rewards, so I decided to dive in headfirst. I bought 3 GOBs with what I had earned from selling CENTS, leaving me with 4 to risk in phase 1. I risked 1 in round 2, 1 in round 5, and 2 in round 6, losing 2 in the process. Luckily, I managed to revive one GOB. In phase 2, since the tiers had a significant price difference, I sold several of my GOBs to buy lower-tier ones and perform several merges. I also used the remaining funds from selling CENTS. By round 8, I had managed to achieve a Vertical Rainbow Tier 4 GOB, which was the highest I could reach with my strategy. I remember around this time, the $GOB Discord was opened. Initially, my plan was to reach the highest possible tier and sell the GOB to recover my investment, but after seeing the project’s potential and the FOMO surrounding the Runes, I decided to stay. I also grew fond of the community, and the developers’ involvement in the project impressed me. I found the team members' aliases quite funny: Gobfather, GobertDownyJr, Gob Goblaw, Goblin... A community member named Nevs developed an initiative for MoMa, which consisted of covering the longest possible distance by creating a digital postcard between 15 members. We managed to cover 62,528 miles. Later, with the Halving, I think they made a mistake in sending the transaction and missed block 840000, but they were the first to enter block 840001, and the Rune is etched onto the second oldest uncommon satoshi. To claim the $GOB Rune, they created a sophisticated tool called Gibber, which remains the best tool for Rune claims, charging a minimal fee that helps reinvest in the community. This has led to collaborations with other communities to claim their runes or distribute them to more holders, such as $BIP, $RUG, $REX, $PEACE. They also launched Bounty 1, where $GOB was awarded to the most creative GOBs made by the community, with a participation reward of 10k $GOB for everyone. Soon after, came the Furnace, a wallet address created by the team to allow users to send $GOB and burn them, reducing the supply. A collaboration was made with BLEE77, and the first 77 people who sent 7777 $GOB from block 845832 onwards to the team's address, to later be burned, would win an Ordinal of a GOB x BLEE77 3D figure inscribed in satoshis from Block 77. I managed to win one. They also collaborated with MagicPool, which allowed you to earn rewards in the form of $GOB through the use of the platform. Shortly after came Bounty 2, which was about creating memes. I managed to place third and win a prize of 150k $GOB, plus an extra 17k $GOB that was given to all participants. Other community members, such as WildHorse and rg_ser, also held their own contests. WildHorse held a raffle in which I won 10k $GOB, which I tripled and sent to burn. Rg_ser organized an initiative that involved burning $GOB and participating in a raffle for a collection he created based on DeGods but transformed into GOBs, which he called DeGobs and inscribed on nakamoto satoshis, along with an additional prize of 500k $GOB. Each 1k $GOB counted as one entry, I sent 22k $GOB and won a DeGob, plus an extra prize of 125k $GOB, that was real luck! Lastly, there was Bounty 3, for which I decided to write my story as best as I could. I'm sure I left out many details, made some mistakes, or included a typo, but I've tried my best. I hope more people will be encouraged to join this community since the development team, despite being anonymous, continues to release new things and is very attentive to the community. If we’re lucky enough for $GOB to reach $1, Gobfather said he would reveal his identity. I have faith that day will come sooner or later. I would also like to mention that I received 303k $GOB after the Halving, as that was what I was entitled to based on the tiers I reached. Since then, I have sent a total of 72k $GOB to the furnace address, yet I still hold 520k $GOB today. This means that by holding assets and participating in all the dynamics organized by the team and the community, my holdings have increased significantly, something I haven’t seen or experienced in any other server or community. Aside from everything mentioned above, I am extremely grateful to the entire community. I've met incredible people on Discord who have taught me new things and made the experience enjoyable. I also want to thank the $GOB team for all the contests and activities they've organized and for the daily attention they give to the community. I know this is still the beginning, and the GOB Metaprotocol has a long way to go. Long live GOB!! Unsede ◨ ◨
